New South Wales holidays - Diverse, exciting and adventurous
Best known for its iconic capital city, Sydney, New South Wales will always be one of our favourite regions for an amazing holiday to Australia. Sydney will always be a must-see with its famous attractions and bustling ambience, but there's more to New South Wales than meets the eye. Discover the jaw-dropping beauty of the Blue Mountains, take a trip to Lord Howe Island, sip wine in Hunter Valley, and relax along Byron Bay.
Cool city, beautiful beach and decadent vineyards
New South Wales might be Australia’s most diverse State. Vibrant, cosmopolitan Sydney is the famous face; Australia’s oldest city is brimming over with iconic landmarks and urban sprawl. But drag your eyes away from the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge and you’ll find a cutting contrast surrounding the city that is the real joy of New South Wales.
Less than 90 minutes to the west are the Blue Mountains, offering some of country’s most magnificent scenery. The region is a UNESCO World Heritage Area; you can’t miss the natural sight-seeing tours and hikes across the mountains.
Head to the coast and you’ll find a patchwork of pretty coastal towns lined with unspoilt beaches – a very different sort of adventure. For the discerning wine-lover, Hunter Valley is home to some of the nation’s finest vineyards.
If you’re looking to get away from the mainland, Lord Howe Island is a short boat trip – it is completely worth it. You can’t help but marvel at the stunning vistas and perfect beaches, which are ideal for diving and snorkelling.
